Messer Construction Co. Named One of "Best Employers in Ohio" for 2009
Cincinnati, OH, June 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Messer Construction Co. has been named one of the 2009 “Best Employers in Ohio” by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Ohio State Council. Messer ranked sixth in the “Large Company” category, which was announced earlier this month.
The Best Employers in Ohio awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Ohio. To be considered for participation, companies have to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- have at least 25 employees in Ohio;
- be a for-profit or non-for-profit business;
- be a publicly or privately held business;
- have a facility in Ohio.
Messer has more than 400 employees in Ohio with offices in Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Employers in Ohio for 2009. The first part consisted of a nomination form from each company that included workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The nomination form was worth approximately 35 percent of the total evaluation.
The second part consisted of a confidential employee survey to measure the employee experience, which was worth approximately 65 percent of the total evaluation. Employees were asked about the company culture as well as their opinions on various aspects of the organization. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
To maintain objectivity and credibility, the process was managed and the results tabulated by Best Companies Group, an independent research and data management company.
