Palmetto Childproofing Attends Child Safety Conference
Child safety experts, professional babyproofers, and pool fence installers from across the United States and Canada gather in New Orleans to discuss child safety.
Charlotte, NC, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Palmetto Childproofing Inc, a Charlotte based professional babyproofing company, recently attended the annual conference of the International Association for Child Safety (IAFCS).
The three day event, held in New Orleans October 2 through October 4, 2009, was a gathering of child safety experts, professional babyproofers, and pool fence installers from across the United States and Canada.
A variety of issues and topics were discussed at the conference including furniture safety, electrical safety, home safety evaluations, new child safety products, stair rail safety, and installation techniques for baby gates and cabinet and drawer latches.
In addition, industry standards as they relate to child safety products were reviewed and a new certification program for child safety specialists was unveiled and is scheduled to begin implementation next year.
One of the highlights of this year’s conference was guest speaker Mark LeBlanc, author of the book “Growing Your Business.” LeBlanc spoke to IAFCS members about marketing their businesses and increasing public awareness of the professional childproofing industry.
Mike Bost, vice president of Palmetto Childproofing Inc, represented his company at the conference. “Mr. LeBlanc’s presentation was outstanding,” said Bost. “He provided succinct and practical advice for small business owners looking to promote and grow their business and also outlined useful strategies for businesses to stay focused on a daily basis.”
