New Juvenile Picture Book Focuses on Magical Land of Teddy Bears

Denver, CO, October 08, 2006 --(PR.com)-- “Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Kiddiwink, there lived a young prince named Barnaby; he wasn’t especially handsome or even very brave but the people of Kiddiwink loved him, for Prince Barnaby had a kind heart…” Thus begins ‘Kiddiwink Kingdom’, a new juvenile fiction book by author Patricia Jackson, who writes under the pen name “Aunty Tish.” This colorful picture book contains a charming collection of stories about the inhabitants of Kiddiwink Kingdom. Much in the same vein as the 1950s classic The Lonely Doll, Jackson’s book utilizes photographs of posed teddy bears in various locations to accent the stories.

‘Kiddiwink Kingdom’ takes readers into an innocent fantasy world where teddy bears rule and dust bunnies are real. Perhaps, the most poignant story is about the day the circus comes to town, and the “World’s Strongest Bear” discovers that there are bear cubs who do not have a safe place to play while their parents are at work. Thus all the caring inhabitants join in to build a care center for the kingdom.

Author Patricia Jackson grew up in the British Colonies, where, she says, she felt very much like a stranger in a strange land. It is there she created her own imaginary world, which she named ‘Kiddiwink Kingdom’. Aunty Tish’s world, which was first shared with her children and grandchildren, has now become the first in a series of published Kiddiwink adventures.

Jackson currently resides in Merrimack, New Hampshire, with her husband and the residents of their own personal petting zoo. Having faced the challenge of loss and need, the proceeds from the sale of the Kiddiwink books will be given to children’s outreach programs, including homeless shelters and programs that focus on cancer research.
