MiniFrame Leverages DisplayLink Technology for Efficient Multi-User Computing

DisplayLink and MiniFrame join forces to deliver a plug and play desktop virtualization computing solution to a variety of global markets.

Netanya, Israel, June 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- MiniFrame announced today that they are leveraging the DisplayLink virtual graphics technology to deliver a plug and play desktop virtualization/multi-user computing solution to a variety of global markets.

The collaboration will allow for the combination of DisplayLink’s USB virtual graphics technology with MiniFrame’s desktop virtualization software, SoftXpand. DisplayLink technology enabled PC peripherals can now be used in conjunction with a single PC to create up to eight virtual desktops.

“MiniFrame’s award-winning SoftXpand software-only virtualization solution is the perfect match for DisplayLink technology-enabled universal docks and displays,” said Andre Bouwer, Head of World Wide Sales for DisplayLink. “At a time when efficiency is paramount and concern for the environment is high, this alliance will deliver a ‘lean and green’ solution that will enable both businesses and consumers to cut costs while expanding their computing experience.”

Close collaboration between the two companies will ensure that all DisplayLink USB OEM products will work seamlessly with SoftXpand desktop virtualization software. Customers will benefit from the ability to easily increase productivity while reducing total cost of ownership and energy consumption.

”We strongly believe that the combination of DisplayLink’s USB products and MiniFrame’s SoftXpand software offers a true plug and play multi-user solution for the consumer and business markets. Home users will be able to easily add an extra workstation to their existing PC, while MiniFrame’s global channel partners will offer the only plug and play virtual desktop solution to their customers,” says Raz Rafaeli, CEO of MiniFrame.
