Brett Callister Prepares to Launch New Penny Auction Site Sell Off Auctions
Company CEO of Sell Off Auctions, Brett Callister, introduces himself and discusses his new penny auction site.
Miami, FL, November 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Canadian businessman, Brett Callister, is entering the penny auction marketplace with a new site called Sell Off Auctions, he announced today.
“Penny auction sites are the wave of the future,” Callister said. “People like bargains, but they also like to have fun while they save money. That's why people are flocking to penny auction sites in droves.”
Callister has been working as an executive in the Internet marketing industry for several years, but this is the first time he will act as the CEO of a major new online company. Penny auction sites have been around for roughly two years but have only become a major force in the industry in the past six months. In a penny auction site, a consumer pays a membership fee and then buys bids he or she can spend on auctions for consumer goods. Every time someone uses a bid, the price of the item goes up by a penny, and extra time is added to the auction clock. Whoever places the final bid gets to purchase the item at the final price at the end of the auction. The price is usually well under the regular retail value of the product.
“What I like about penny auctions is that it incorporates an element of skill into the shopping experience,” Callister said. “Consumers compete against each other for value which makes everything more fun.”
At this point Callister and his team are still working out exactly what items will be made available on Sell Off Auctions and finishing up the final site design and marketing materials. “At first we plan to focus on popular consumer goods,” Callister said. “Obviously we will be doing a lot of split testing and over time may introduce other types of products and expand our overall marketplace.”
Callister said his focus will be on providing the best customer service possible in the penny auction industry. “We are building an online live chat system where people will be able to get answers to their questions and concerns about the site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, right from their home computers,” Callister said. “We feel this is a great way to start our customer service initiative.”
All of the products offered by Sell Off Auctions will be brand new and shipped directly to the consumer's home.“People are tired of buying used goods from shady third party sellers,” Callister said. “They are ready for the real value of a site like Sell Off Auctions.”
