Atlas Copco Gas and Process Acquires JC Carter Company Cryogenic Pump Business
Santa Maria, CA, March 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Atlas Copco Gas and Process Division has finalized the purchase agreement of the pump business from JC Carter Company LLC, located in Costa Mesa, California, USA.
JC Carter is a leading producer of cryogenic submerged motor pumps, which have many applications in the growing natural gas market. The company’s products are primarily used in liquid natural gas regasification and liquefaction plants, and natural gas liquid processing. In 2009, the company had around 70 employees and revenues of approximately $25 million USD (MSEK 175).
“The acquisition will facilitate JC Carter’s long-term growth. It will also extend Atlas Copco’s product range we can offer to our customers in the LNG market, and the chemical and petrochemical industries,” said Peter Wagner, President of Atlas Copco Gas and Process.
JC Carter has a well-developed customer base and market presence in the cryogenic pump market. Now part of Atlas Copco’s Gas and Process Division, JC Carter will be under the umbrella of Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench LLC, headquartered in Santa Maria, California.
