Koch Looks to Carry Darlington Momentum to Dover's Monster Mile

Bedford, TX, May 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Going to a track where he has never raced before is not a big deal for Blake Koch. After all, almost all of the tracks are new to the NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year contender who drives the Daystar Television Network Dodge. This Saturday, 25-year-old Koch will test his natural born racing skills on the monster mile known as Dover International Raceway for the 5-Hour Energy 200.

“I feel really good about heading to Dover. In fact it was my favorite track that I use to play on NASCAR 09 on my Xbox,” mused Koch, who is becoming the pride of West Palm Beach, Florida on the NASCAR Nationwide Series with much success.

This weekend, Koch will get his first 3-D view of the monster mile when he drives the MacDonald Motorsports #82, sponsored by the Daystar Television Network, while Donnie Nuenberger will be his teammate. Nuenberger will be driving the second team car, the #81 Dodge Challenger that Koch drove to a remarkable 18th place in his first visit to Darlington last week.

“It’s going to be nice to have Donnie as a teammate at Dover,” added Koch. “Hopefully we can bounce some information off of each other. Donnie has been to Dover many times and hopefully he can help me out a little.”

The monster mile at Dover is a unique track on the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup tours. It is exactly one mile in length and it is neither a superspeedway nor a short track. The track surface is made of concrete while most tracks are asphalt, with the exception of Bristol Motor Speedway and Nashville Superspeedway.

For Koch, facing a new track with a unique configuration and surface does not daunt his determination whatsoever. This Saturday such will be the case as he straps into the Daystar #82 Dodge and continues his quest for the 2011 Nationwide Rookie title, while sharing the message of God through his own personal success story in collaboration with his title sponsor. The Daystar Television Network has one singular goal: to reach souls with the good news of Jesus Christ. Koch is part of this fabulous outreach that is becoming a hot topic in the NASCAR community since he entered the series this year.

After his solid run in Darlington that earned him his second Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award, Koch is currently third in the closely contested NNS Rookie of the Year battle. He sits 23rd in the NNS point standings, after starting the last eight out of ten races. He is currently just 13 points out of the top 20 in the Nationwide standings and continues to shine week after week.

Blake Koch is proud to carry the sponsorship of the Daystar Television Network.
