It's a FieldTurf Revolution for the Naval Academy
Naval Academy Midshipmen replace current FieldTurf surface with FieldTurf Revolution – the latest in artificial turf technology; longer-lasting fibers, superior durability, and proven safety characteristics just some of the benefits of Revolution.
Annapolis, MD, May 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Naval Academy Midshipmen will be playing on the very best in turf technology this coming season at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Naval Academy Athletic Association has announced that they will be installing FieldTurf Revolution on their stadium field. The decision to replace their current FieldTurf surface was made after the Midshipmen looked at the innovative FieldTurf Revolution system that was launched at the beginning of 2011.
FieldTurf’s impressive fiber technology has once again revolutionized the industry. The Revolution fiber is the result of innovative science, engineering and technology that will provide FieldTurf customers with a soft, strong monofilament fiber with extraordinary durability and longevity.
“When we saw FieldTurf’s latest technology, FieldTurf Revolution, we knew we had to have it on our stadium field,” said Naval Academy Athletic Director Chet Gladchuk. “Our previous FieldTurf surface could have easily served us well for a few more years, but we felt that upgrading to FieldTurf Revolution and having the absolute best in turf technology was the right thing to do for our program. This represents another first-class upgrade for Navy athletics.”
“The relationship between the Naval Academy and FieldTurf over the years has been tremendous – and it is something that we hold in high regard,” said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “I truly believe that Navy athletics will be very pleased with the Revolution product and their continued relationship with our company.”
The list of major universities who play their home games on FieldTurf includes Nebraska, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, West Virginia, Kansas State, Illinois, Illinois State, Missouri, Texas, Texas Tech, Iowa, Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse, Cincinnati and Louisville. Twenty-one of the NFL's 32 teams have chosen FieldTurf in their stadiums and/or practice facilities.
