GCFLearnFree.org Seeks Curriculum Writer/Instructional Designer and Computer Class Instructors

As GCFLearnFree.org continues to grow, the organization is adding to its staff with openings for a full time Curriculum Writer/Instructional Designer and two part time Computer Class Instructors.

Raleigh, NC, August 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- GCFLearnFree.org currently has three positions open: one full time Curriculum Writer/Instructional Designer and two part time computer class instructors.

Curriculum Writer/Instructional Designer
GCFLearnFree.org is looking for an additional writer to create quality, innovative educational content for the organization’s various online learning programs. The candidate will be responsible for using text, graphics, and interactive activities to develop a wide range of learning content, from career and computer training to math and adult literacy. The writer will join a small, creative team dedicated to producing the highest quality online learning content under the direction of the Instructional Content Coordinator.

This position is ideal for teachers who are talented at creating lessons and curriculum, or for writers that have an aptitude toward teaching and creating instructional guides. Visit GCFLearnFree.org to see the type of learning content produced.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

Instructional Design - develop and create instructional content using appropriate instructional design principles.
Writing/Editing - write, edit, and proofread instructional and website content.
Blogging/Social media - write and post content to the organization’s blog and other relevant social media outlets.
Creative Writing -- write content and scripts for instructional videos and simulations.
Interactivity - Use available software to produce interactive learning activities to accompany instructional content.
Graphics - create screenshots, images, and infographics to accompany learning content.

The writer must be able to work as part of a team. Additionally, the candidate must possess an exacting attention to detail and the ability to hold their work to extremely high standards.

Requirements

Four-year college degree in related field and at least two years of related experience. Proven ability to create written educational content -- examples required. Blogging and creative writing experience a plus.

Computer Class Instructors
GCFLearnFree.org is seeking additional instructors to support learners enrolled in the organization’s rapidly expanding online class (http://www.gcflearnfree.org/computer/classes.aspx) program. GCFLearnFree.org is a leader in providing free online learning opportunities, serving more than 1 million learners and awarding over 30,000 IACET-approved continuing education units since 2001.

The Online Instructor will be responsible for supporting learners enrolled in web based Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (2007 and 2010) classes. Instructors will use the supplied tools to evaluate assignments, respond to learner questions and comments, and provide additional information as needed.

Currently, GCFLearnFree.org is looking for instructors to fill the following shifts:

9:00AM - 3:00PM - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
9:00AM - 3:00PM - Tuesday, Thursday

The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching and online communication skills, and will be proficient in the Microsoft Office 2007 software suite.
