Jean Luc Brunel has been a well established model agent since 1976 where he began his career in Paris working at Karin Models. After several successful years with the agency, Brunel purchased it from the original owner. As owner, Brunel established a global network of affiliate agencies and became a worldwide force. Brunel and the agents at Karin Models scouted and launched the careers of familiar industry names like Estelle, Kristina Semenovskaia, Monica Bellucci, Estella Warren, Angie Everhart, Sharon Stone, Christy Turlington, Rachel Hunter, Jerry Hall, Rebecca Romijn, and Milla Jovovich.
Brunel then went on to take part in the launch of Next Model Management and remained a partner in the company until 1995 when he established Karin Models in New York and Miami. In 2005 Karin Models of America became MC2 Model Management in New York and Miami. MC2 Model Management has continued to be a prosperous and successful agency in both New York and Miami and has had several successful New Generation contests where winners such as Aline Weber and Ginta Lapina have gone on to successful modeling careers.
