IRS Grants The Black Transmen, Inc Organization 501(c)(3) Tax Exemption

Dallas, TX, October 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- (BTMI) Black Transmen, Inc. has recently been granted the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the United States Internal Revenue Service. The new IRS designation officially recognizes BTMI as a non-profit public charity who’s educational and advocacy efforts promote progress, economic and social development of the transgender and SLGBQI communities, nationwide. The IRS letter granting Black Transmen, Inc its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is available upon request. Donation inquiries can be sent to donate@blacktransmen.org.
Among the more notable 501(c)(3) benefits now afforded Black Transmen, Inc and its supporters are the tax-deductibility of charitable contributions made by individuals and corporate donors. BTMI is now eligible to apply for government and private grants as well as receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts. Contributions donated to Black Transmen, Inc are fully tax-deductible and retroactive to the effective date of exemption, April 19, 2011.

The Black Transmen, Inc organization has created transgender advocacy representation in six of the United States providing outreach, peer-to-peer mentoring and Akanni, a support group held monthly for men of trans experience. Black Transmen, Inc. also received widespread acclaim for its 1st four day advocacy conference addressing transgender concerns including health, family, finances, education, HIV/AIDS and other socio-economic disparities of transgender people of color nationwide. The 2nd Annual BTMI Advocacy Conference will be held March 13-17th in Dallas, Texas, again bringing the first ever Transgender Conference to Texas, drawing transgender individuals, friends, families and allies from every corner of the United States for an unforgettable experience.
