Philadelphia Surgery Center Opens in Narberth, PA

Modern state of the art facility promises truly minimum invasive spine procedures.

Philadelphia, PA, December 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dr. David Ditsworth is pleased to announce the opening of Philadelphia Surgery Center (PSC), the tri-state area's first location to offer one-day non-traumatic outpatient spine procedures that avoid bone removal. These procedures are safe and easy on the patient and cause zero bone removal damage to the spine. Dr. Ditsworth, a board-certified neurosurgeon, is the founder of this non-traumatic technique for disc removal and repair. Over the past 27 years, he has performed these advanced procedures and successfully treated thousands of patients with his safe, one hour, FDA-approved techniques.

“Our NANO procedures are inherently better than typical "minimally invasive" promises because with our procedure there is no invasive access at all,” said Dr. Ditsworth, Chief of Neurosurgery, Philadelphia Surgery Center. “What this means is that below a tiny nick in the skin, about 1/6 of an inch, there is no cutting and no bone drilling, therefore no bleeding and no scarring. This eliminates the risk of failed back surgery due to surgical trauma. As shown on our website, we have treated many physicians as our patients. Trained medical professionals know the difference and they would not have surgery that is overly traumatic or based on false promises.”

The PSC focus is alleviating back pain without traumatizing the nervous system - a common result of open back and laser spine surgery. The Center performs the most advanced non-traumatic procedures available using customized surgery tools and equipment. These procedures offer no cutting, no bleeding, and no scarring; they are an extremely safe alternative to open back and laser spine surgery. The post-operative recovery experience is brief and much more comfortable than typical spine or laser surgery. Due to decades of surgical expertise and excellent patient care, the new Philadelphia Surgery Center is one of the safest facilities for people seeking truly non-traumatic, innovative spine procedures.

PSC’s revolutionary procedure is called Non-Traumatic Access Discectomy. It is an outpatient procedure performed with the goal of removing bulging or herniated disc material to relieve back pain. PSC surgeons use a series of specially designed nano-probes in conjunction with fluoroscopy and magnified video to reach and remove the offending disc material. With Dr. Ditsworth’s carefully crafted tools and techniques, the surgeon can also push bulging discs back into place and even remove disc fragments and small bone spurs.

PSC also offers procedures known as trans-foraminal spinal blocks. These are ideal for patients who may not necessarily need a discectomy to deal with their back pain. Similar to an epidural in concept, a spinal block provides targeted anesthesia in order to reduce pain at a given location on the back. Unlike an epidural, a spinal block is a one-time injection that varies per patient in length of effect.
