DeviceNet Communication Added to Absolute Encoders

AMCI adds DeviceNet communication to their family of networked absolute encoders. The heavy duty rotary sensors provide up to 30 bits resolution, and are available in single-turn or multi-turn as well as a wide variety of other options.

Terryville, CT, February 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Advanced Micro Controls Inc. (AMCI), adds DeviceNet communication to their lineup of NR25 series encoders. These heavy duty rotary sensors provide an overall measuring range of up to 30 bits total, 16 bits per turn and 12 or 14 bit number of turns. With both single-turn and multi-turn versions available, AMCI’s DeviceNet encoders are ready for any application. AMCI NR25 DeviceNet encoders are compatible with all devices that support DeviceNet.

NR25 DeviceNet Encoder Features:

· Up to 30 bit (65536 steps x 16384 revolutions) Resolution
· Absolute Single-turn and Multi-turn
· Resolver-based Durability
· IP67 Ingress Protection Rating
· Solid Shaft and Hub Shaft Versions
· Stainless Steel Units Available
· Programmable resolution, count direction, total measurement range, velocity format, & position preset

Simplify Installation and Cut Costs
The NR25 networked encoders are compatible with all PLCs and PACs that support DeviceNet, including all Allen-Bradley controllers. Bus address and bus speed, as well as a reset button, are conveniently accessed through the unit's back cover, making it quick and easy to configure your NR25 DeviceNet encoder for any PLC based control system. Plus, all programmable parameters and the preset offset are stored in an internal non-volatile memory. The NR25 DeviceNet end connector units allow customers to either use separate BUS IN and BUS OUT network connections, or a single BUS IN connection for "T" drop installations.

The Package
AMCI NR25 DeviceNet encoders are offered in a variety of package options including flange mount, servo mount, solid shaft, and hub shaft; with two M12 connectors on the back supplying power and DeviceNet connectivity. The NR25 encoder is resolver based, meaning that it is designed to provide absolute position feedback without glass discs or sensitive LED components; enabling it to withstand high levels of shock and vibration. The IP67 rated package is the solution for single-turn and multi-turn position applications requiring protection from dust and water ingress. Stainless steel versions are also available for food grade and marine environments.

AMCI NR25 Series encoders are now available with DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Profibus-DP, or Modbus TCP connectivity. For more information on AMCI NR25 series encoders, visit our website www.amci.com
