New Minerva Entertainment Interfaces Deliver Advanced Time-Shifting Functionality on iOS and Android Devices
Minerva's Network-based Time-shifting Features Enable Operators to Efficiently Deliver Advanced Multiscreen Services to Their Subscribers.
London, United Kingdom, March 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Minerva Networks, a leading provider of software solutions for the delivery of television services over broadband networks, will unveil a powerful new multiscreen entertainment interface that supports network DVR (nDVR) services, catch-up TV, restart TV, and personal video recording (PVR) program playback through Minerva’s smartphone and tablet clients. The new interface, the most advanced of its kind for integrated pay TV networks, raises the bar with highly-responsive, engaging screens that can be easily customized and viewed on a variety of popular smart devices.
Delivered as a native application for Android and iOS devices, Minerva’s multiscreen entertainment interface offers an engaging and personalized experience for discovering and watching content while at home or on the go. In addition to existing features such as the ability to watch live and on demand content as well as to control the set-top box, the new interfaces allows subscribers to watch previously-aired programs by going back in time in the EPG (Reverse EPG). Additionally, subscribers can restart a currently-airing program from the beginning and playback recorded programs. Minerva’s multiscreen interface is available for Android touch devices through Google Play, as well as for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone) through Apple’s iTunes App store.
“With the enhanced Minerva multiscreen clients we can offer our subscribers a state-of-the art television service,” explained Gyorgy Zsembery, CEO of Volia. “The new interface will further increase the adoption of already popular services like Catch-up TV, Restart TV and PVR.”
Minerva’s entertainment services platform has been developed from the ground up to enable operators to deliver and monetize an engaging television experience on any connected device. Minerva’s open platform has been deployed by hundreds of operators to deliver a unified subscriber experience across multiple access networks.
“We are continuing to see strong interest by operators to deploy services such as Catch-up TV and Restart TV that increase the value of their network infrastructure,” said Eric Freund, Vice President, Product Marketing for Minerva. “By allowing access to these services through our multiscreen clients, we are able to help operators further drive subscriber engagement and grow revenue.”
Minerva is on TV Connect’s 2014 Industry Awards Shortlist for Best Service Deliver for IP TV and OTT TV, and will be at the TV Connect show demonstrating its new multiscreen clients at Stand # 173.
