Global4PL is Certified Under Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism - C-TPAT - Program
Milpitas, CA, September 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Global4PL Supply Chain Services, a leading supply chain solutions and customs brokerage provider, obtained the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) certification from U.S. Customs & Border Protection for its customs brokerage division. C-TPAT is a joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen overall supply chain and border security. For Global4PL’s U.S. customers, C-TPAT certification means improved security and avoidance of customs delays in product shipping.
C-TPAT is designed to optimize supply chain performance by mitigating the risk of loss, theft, and contraband smuggling in the global supply chain. Certification as a low-risk importer grants permission to obtain expedited clearance of cargo by reducing the number of inspections and requests for information at the time of customs entry. These reduced inspections translate into a faster clearance process with less risk of delay. To attain C-TPAT certification, Global4PL U.S. conducted a comprehensive assessment of its international supply chain based upon C-TPAT security criteria. As a consequence, Global4PL has ensured the integrity of its security practices and communicated its security guidelines to its business partners within the supply chain. The assessment involved procedural, physical and personnel security as well as a review of procedures such as access controls, security audits and personnel criminal background checks in U.S. offices.
Global4PL is a leading supply chain solutions provider that specializes in helping hi-tech companies penetrate new regional markets, optimize supply chain delivery models, and demonstrate total supply chain costs lower than the competition. Global 4PL delivers innovative, software-backed solutions to its global customer base with quick payback.
Kenny Choi, Global4PL Vice President of Customs Brokerage Operations, commented, “We pursued the C-TPAT certification as a way for Global4PL to contribute to securing our borders and ensuring the continued free flow of international trade. Additionally it has the added benefit for our customers of expedited customs processing.”
Global4PL’s excellence has been acknowledged through numerous honors such as the “Top 100 Supply Chain Award” for four consecutive years from 2010-2013 as well as recognition as the “2012 Green Supply Chain” from Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine.
