Veterans Party of America Nominates Bruce Walden for Alaskan State Senate

Moses Lake, WA, September 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Veterans Party of America has nominated Bruce Walden, an Alaskan citizen, as their candidate for Alaska's Senator.

Bruce Walden was born in Indiana in 1962. He went on active duty on January 27th, 1981, as an Airborne Infantryman in Charlie Company (Airborne) 4/23rd at Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Over the course of the next eight years, Bruce Walden was proud to serve, including the invasion of Grenada during Operation Urgent Fury in 1983. Eventually, Bruce Walden became a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant and later an Intelligence Sergeant, serving at Fort Lewis, Washington and Torrii Station, Okinawa, Japan. Bruce Walden retired from the Army returning to his beloved Alaska in 2001. After the attack of 9/11, Bruce Walden served as a civilian contractor in 2004 and 2005 in Mosul, Iraq protecting the embassy personnel.

Bruce Walden became political after meeting Dan Sullivan when he was running for Senate and the promised to “look into it” for all Veterans facing difficulty in divorce and child custody proceedings, with zero results, except finding it to be lip service.

Bruce had this to say about why he felt the need to run "As a veteran I have grown very tired of the lip service paid to both veterans and civilians by both parties. The Democrats and the Republicans know what is needed and they do nothing but talk. It is time for battle proven leaders to take this nation in hand and return it to our constitutional roots."

In 2006, Bruce Walden ran for District One (Matanuska-Susitna Borough) Assemblyman. The Republican Party to which he had been loyal for his entire adult life refused to support his candidacy, with his opponent barely receiving a few hundred votes more.

Bruce Walden served on the Butte Community Council Board of Directors and put his name up for nomination for the Planning Commission in Matsu. Bruce Walden was appointed Commissioner for Wasilla and was later appointed as deputy chairman.

George Westrup, the party's National Vice-chair added "Bruce is the latest candidate to join our ranks in our fight to bring America back to the people. Our numbers are growing daily as more people become upset with the status quo of politics. The latest antics of the GOP with Donald Trump signing a non-compete with the party is just one example. After that announcement our numbers shot up. People are tired of being lied to and used. Soon we will be releasing more names of our nominees for other elected offices across America."
