Announcing Prototyping the Future - October 28-29, 2016
Announcing Conference focusing on how the Smart Cities revolution is fundamentally transforming the communities in which we all live, work, and play.
San Leandro, CA, September 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Prototyping The Future announces its returns after its successful inaugural year back in 2014. The two day event, is inviting global and local policy makers, clean tech startups and companies, smart city developers, community members, hackers and makers to join a two day immersive conference. The vision of the event is to ignite and excite global and local communities about the prospect of greener-smarter cities.
Prototyping The Future will be held at San Leandro’s Zero Net Energy Center and will focus on Smart grid / Clean Energy Microgrids; Future / Smart Cities;
Mobility; Urban farming; Automation & Workforce Development; Advanced manufacturing; Urban Art and Creativity; Shared Purpose; Civic / Community Engagement.
Day One will focus on conversations and workshops with city leaders from around the world working to transition to smarter connected and cleaner cities.
Day Two will host a job fair for the cleantech industry - inviting companies to look for their next star employees and star employees to look for their next dream job.
“We want to engage both local and global policy makers, the maker and creative communities as well as the general public to take part in these important conversations around the future resilience of their cities,” says Greg Delaune, Chief Innovation Officer of UIX Global who is producing the event.
“Prototyping the Future is a powerful event platform for ZipPower as we engage together as a cross-sector community to define solutions to create low carbon cities,” Reflected David Cohen, Chief Operating Officer of ZipPower.
“Also, it is a cherry on top to have the conference take place in San Leandro, our pilot city for our smart energy network.”
“When you look into this, you see there's something very hopeful and exuberant going on here. Making is about new connections of materials, and idea, and code. It's very interdisciplinary. And it creates the unexpected.
It really is jazz. And, of course, that's what cities do. And we have more new stuff, and ideas, and prototypes to combine today than ever before. And if you think about it, it was in the 1920s in our cities, in the second Industrial Revolution, that jazz really came into its own. And today we're spiking innovation in a similar way.” -Peter Hirshberg, Prototyping the Future - Keynote 2014
This year the event is excited to partner with the City of San Leandro and ZipPower.
With confirmed speakers such as Deborah Acosta, Chief Innovation Officer of the city of San Leandro, Jeremy Director, Innovation Partnerships, City of San Francisco, Greg Horrowitt, co-founder & managing director T2 Venture Capital and Amanda Ravenhill, Director of Operations of Project Drawdown, amongst others.
