Client since 2005Ballinacurra House Kinsale, a magnificent “Private Estate for Exclusive Hire” has just announced plans to increase capacity with additional suites and restoration of the existing Coach house.
The works will now mean that the exclusive-use property can accommodate 16 individual suites or 40 people sharing at maximum configuration. The increased facilities will be on track for the start of the 2006 season.
The House boasts ample facilities such as bar, snug, dining room, news room, sitting room, living room, commercial and domestic kitchens, golf club drying room, and massage facilities. The renaissance style Ballroom fits 50 for dining.
The beautiful south facing aspect includes an outdoor entertainment patio, croquet lawn, playground, helipad, picnic lawn, pond, small boat jetty, forest pagoda, and woodland walks.
Set within a walled garden with 10 foot-high stone walls and 40 acres of woodland and lawns, this unique “Private Estate for Exclusive Hire”, just 20 minutes away from Old Head offers guests a welcome retreat and luxury for golfers at the end of a challenging round of golf.
With its high spec landscaped grounds and distinctive feel, Ballinacurra is well suited for Conferences, Seminars, Product Launches and special intimate gatherings.
The renovation of the house, originally built in 1791, reflects its colourful history of owners and residents from an old Cork family dynasty, an English Colonel, a retired British Counsel to a convent at one stage.
Its owners, Des and Lisa McGahan, have combined Ballinacurra’s eclectic background with influences brought from their time spent in the Far East and Australia giving the house the exotic feeling of “East meets West meets Ireland”.
The house has had a colourful history of owners and residents. For example, the Italian ‘trompe d’oeil’ wall paintings in the Danford Ballroom, commissioned by John Danford in 1960, have been restored whilst themed bedrooms reflect his life in Japan, Africa and England.
