Louisiana Superdome, Home of the New Orleans Saints, Applauds Sportexe Surface

After a thorough review of advanced synthetic field systems, the Louisiana Superdome made its choice: Sportexe Momentum™, the highest performance turf on the market today. That system was installed in the Superdome in summer, 2004.

Since then more than 23 games and hundreds of hours of practice have put the field to the test - and the reactions have been extremely positive with regard to the field's performance.

"After a full season of football - the Saints, high school and college ball - we're as pleased with our Momentum™ surface as we were the day it was installed," said Danny Vincens, assistant general manager, Louisiana Superdome.

"As managers of the facility, we sought a surface that could meet the performance standards all of our users need," he continued. "We felt confident that Momentum™ would meet those standards. After extensive use of the surface, we're even more confident we made the right choice."

Given the caliber of teams and events the new technology infill turf has hosted in the past year: the 2005 Nokia Sugar Bowl Classic, the Bayou Classic, the Wyndham New Orleans Bowl, the New Orleans Saints' home games, Tulane University's home games, Louisiana's high school football championships and much more, that's saying a lot.

Vincens said the system, with its balance of firmness and cushioning, was viewed as ideal for the speed and performance requirements of the nation's elite football players. In addition, Vincens said the Superdome sought a surface that offered the shock absorbency and cushioning football players need to help ensure safer competition - at all levels.

"Football is a high contact sport," he emphasized. "We needed to know the field we selected was designed specifically to address that level of contact."

Regarding installation of the Momentum™ system, Vincens was complimentary of Sportexe. "The installation process went smoothly and professionally." He added that the customer service the company has provided since then has been commendable.

"We've been impressed with Sportexe as a company," said Vincens. "The field speaks for itself - it was grassy and beautiful the day it was installed and today it looks the same.

We anticipate it will retain its quality, from appearance to performance and durability, for a good long time."
