Biography
J.W. (Jim) Nokes is executive vice president, refining, marketing, supply and transportation for ConocoPhillips.
Nokes served as executive vice president worldwide refining, marketing, supply and transportation for Conoco Inc., from 1999 to 2002. Nokes joined Conoco in 1970. He was president of North American refining and marketing from 1998 to 1999 after serving as vice president of Conoco's North American refining and marketing operations since 1994.
Nokes is a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and sits on the board of directors of the American Petroleum Institute, where he has served on transportation, marketing and downstream committees. Nokes also serves on the advisory board of the Yellowstone Park Foundation and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas, Inc.
Born in 1946 in McCook, Neb., Nokes holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Fort Hays State University in Kansas and an MBA from the University of Arkansas.
