Public Relations/MediaAs a native from Ecuador-South America came to California as little girl to pursue my dreams and wanted to be just like Mother Theresa. It takes passion and drive to accomplish our efforts, life is a RAP, therefore we achieve to strive our goals to make our dreams a reality. I was a great dancer since grade school, volunteered at school as Dance Teacher. I went to College to learn Social Studies and Law. After school hours I took Modeling classes and had a couple of jobs.
Later in years I realized that my niche has always been in Public Relations, I decided to go back to school to obtain my degree in Public Relations. It takes determination and drive to acquire your goals. I have struggled as a single mother and achieved for my two girls to have the proper education. I am a proud parent and great Advocate for Education and good entrepreneur.
I am about to launch my own business in Public Relations, the name of my Company is GEMS PR, a Management, Marketing, Promotions and Publicity Contact. We do Special Events, Red Carpet, Marketing, Film Production, Editing, and Screen writing.
As a Publicist I want to help promote my clients; including talent/entertainers, make contact with the right people and help them become successful. I have gone to school for Public Relations and Business Communications, my background is in communications consultant
I have acquired various work experience and accomplished valuable knowledge from past employers. I have unique qualities and good interpersonal skills, I am detail oriented, analytical thinker, organized, meet deadlines, a team player, and work well with others.
My previous jobs have all involved public contact, I am comfortable dealing with people in many levels. It has been challenging working with “UNIDAS” a Non-Profit Organization, since 1998 as Public Relations assistant, I targeted sponsors to raise money for all events to help abused and handicap children. I helped with fund raise; research/cold calling, pitching outreach, assisting arrange seminars; attend group meetings; chamber of commerce, Consulate conferences, and Network in major Corporations. I introduced various products to future sponsors to help raise money for special events. I was involved in marketing for Sprint, NBC , and GTE. I helped promote special events for Salvation Army, LAPD, AFI, FIN, and WINN AWARDS. I personally sponsored the Aid Walk Los Angeles since 1999, Leukemia and Cancer Society, Revlon walk, SVC (Victims of Domestic Violence), Homeless, Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner and more.
As an academic adviser assistant for Los Angeles Valley College Job program, I recruited students and promoted the program through co-hosting orientation seminars and clientele support and as part of the Workforce Business Advisory Board, I introduced new ideas to keep team spirit. At Dr. Abusleme’s practice for over 15 years, I helped increase clientele by approximately 45% and decreased loss by almost 55%.
I am a member of AWRT, EPPS, WG, The National Academy of Popular Music, FIN, AFI, PR Wire, Market Wire, Wire Image, Variety, and Getty Immages.
