Biography
I took my first apartment call at age seven. Helping landlords and showing apartments was one of my fathers biggest passions. In 1984, Bob Scholl had a vision of a place where landlords can go to find tenants and fill their vacancies. Bob was a true pioneer in an industry that never existed. Before cell phones and computers became a necessary tool for offices, Bob invested in building a network of landlords on the Northside of Chicago and Evanston. Properties across Chicago were entered into a word text database and printed out in a book for every employee and agent to use to go through listings. At his own expense, Bob took ads out in the reader for apartments landlords needed help renting and hired as many leasing agents as he could handle to show them. We would pull credit reports, verify things like rental history and employment and even helped execute lease agreements. In 2019 it was time for Bob to retire and in February 2022 sadly, Bob passed away. Bob's legacy will forever live on through me and a handful of wonderful employees. The Apartment People has become a necessary tool for landlords to help grow and manage their portfolios. We recently formed a very strategic partnership with Westward 360, a leader in property management and now have much more than a tenant to offer our landlords.
