Ryan Ondras, the CEO of Obsidian Solar, has a compelling and resilient journey marked by perseverance and success. Born and raised in the suburbs of Illinois, Ryan was an all-around athlete, excelling in four sports during high school. His passion for both people and business led him to study psychology and business at Joliet Junior College and later at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

After college, Ryan began his professional career as an energy technician at ComEd Utlity, where he worked for four years. His next chapter took him into the auto industry, where his natural salesmanship and customer-oriented approach earned him a spot among the top 50 auto sales representatives in the nation. His success in the auto industry was followed by the launch of his exotic car rental business, a venture that showcased his entrepreneurial spirit.

However, life took an unexpected turn when Ryan became a victim of identity theft, leading to homelessness during the COVID pandemic. Despite these challenges, Ryan’s resilience shone through as he rebuilt his life, moving into construction sales, where he was first introduced to the solar industry. His passion for renewable energy grew, and he quickly rose to the position of Regional Sales Director, eventually founding his own company, Obsidian Solar.

Under Ryan’s leadership, Obsidian Solar achieved three years of exponential growth, garnering multiple awards in recognition of their outstanding efforts. Unfortunately, Ryan faced another setback when the CEO he hired to replace himself stole money from the company. Having been a victim of fraud multiple times, Ryan became determined to align himself with like-minded individuals who valued customer experience over personal gain. This commitment to integrity and customer satisfaction led him to start again with Apiria Finance, where he continues to strive to change the narrative in the industry, ensuring that trust and transparency are at the forefront of every customer interaction.
