Child Safety Product Keeps Kids from Unbuckling Seat Belts – “Angel Guard” Wins iParenting Media’s “Outstanding” Product Award for 2008
Angel Guard, a child safety product company in Florida, wins an iParenting Media Product award for it’s seat belt buckle guard. The buckle guard prevents children from releasing their seat belts, minimizing the risk of injury to the child in the event of an accident.
Spring Hill, FL, August 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Angel Guard LLC, a child safety product company, announced today that it is a celebrated winner of iParenting Media’s 2008 “Outstanding” Product Award for it’s child safety product, “the Angel GuardTM – seat belt release cover”. The Angel GuardTM deters small children from releasing the seat belt holding their car/booster seat in place, yet it takes only seconds for an adult to remove.
“After I discovered that my little three year old learned she could release herself from her seatbelt by simply pushing the button, I searched for a product that could cover the release mechanism but I could find nothing that worked as promised.”, says product inventor Patricia Mandarino. “They say that necessity is the mother of all inventions, so I took that to heart and decided to create a product myself!”
The result was the invention of the Angel GuardTM. The easy-to-use clip keeps little fingers from disengaging their seatbelt, while still allowing for parents to quickly unbuckle them without the aid of any other device. It has also been tested and endorsed by the Spring Hill Fire & Rescue for ease of removal in an emergency.
The NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration) in a 2004 Statistics and Analysis reported the following:
· Out of the 495 passenger vehicle occupant fatalities among children under 5 years of age, an estimated 173 (35%) were totally unrestrained.
According to a Department of Transportation and NHTSA report from 2006, Child safety seats reduce the risk of death in passenger cars by 71% for infants, and by 54% for toddlers ages 1 to 4 years.
Five extra seconds is all it takes to put the Angel GuardTM seat belt release cover on your existing seat belt, helping to ensure your children’s seatbelts are safely buckled in the event of an accident.
Since its introduction into the market, the Angel GuardTM has garnered attention from many retailers, including Target, which now sells the product in more than 200 stores nationwide and on their online website Target.com As well as Burlington Coat Factory nation wide.
Angel Guard, LLC was founded by Patricia Mandarino. Additional information about the Angel Guard™ seat belt release cover is available on the company's Web site, www.theangelguard.com, along with instructional and demonstrational videos.
