Racy Ads Win Awards for Geary Company of Las Vegas
Las Vegas advertising agency The Geary Company received the "best television campaign" award from AIGA for its new iHom campaign promoting Longford Homes of New Mexico. Dubbed "the iHom boxers ad" by local radio stations following the campaign's Super Bowl debut, the ads have been popular in Santa Fe and Albequerque.
Las Vegas, NV, August 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Geary Company received the "best television campaign" award at the 2008 AIGA Work Show. AIGA is a national organization of graphic artists and creative organizations. Geary's campaign promoting the iHom system for Longford Homes of New Mexico, received the organization's highest award for television advertisements.
The campaign included three 30-second advertisements that were filmed in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico and produced in Las Vegas. Mike Geary, co-owner and senior vice president of Geary Company, served as producer/creative director and Matt Stabile of Stabile Productions directed.
The spots aired in Albuquerque and Santa Fe during the Super Bowl and developed a following the next day among local radio disc jockeys recapping its commercials. “They were calling the first one the “iHom boxers ad” and it was named best local Super Bowl commercial by several stations,” said Geary. “Longford Homes also saw an incredible surge in visitors to their sales offices after spots started airing. It was a successful campaign all around.”
"We are thrilled that the campaign has been recognized by our colleagues in AIGA," said Geary. "This was an inspired partnership between our company and Stabile Productions. We were able to bring a funny, entertaining series to the public while educating them on all of the things the iHom can do."
Three advertisements, titled 'Who's The Man,' 'In The Mood' and 'Peace of Mind' feature homeowners using their IHom system in a Longford Home. "In the first one, a business executive uses his computer to remotely turn on his jacuzzi and dim the lights for what he thinks will be a night of romance with his wife," said Geary. "After rushing home from the office, he arrives home to find finds his wife definitely had other plans for the evening. You can check out this and the rest of the campaign on our website's Work section."
Because homebuilders rarely incorporate humor in their marketing campaigns, Geary said the ads have given Longford Homes a distinct advantage among competitors in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. "The iHom system allows homeowners to control just about anything electronic in their homes from a touch pad, an internet connection or even a cell phone," he said. "These spots help show just how easy it is to control your lights, temperature, entertainment systems, jacuzzi and security system with a few clicks on your keypad."
The Geary Company was founded in 1969 when outdoor advertising executive and San Francisco Ad Agency Executive Richard Geary met Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley’s manager and trusted friend. The Colonel immediately took a liking to Geary and recommended he open his own advertising agency with the King Of Rock n’ Roll as his first client.
Since 1990 brothers Jim McKusick and Michael Geary have owned and managed the Geary Company and are part owners in Geary Interactive, an interactive marketing company with offices in San Diego and San Francisco. Both companies retain the client/employee family atmosphere, colorful history and will always retain those values as core principles at the forefront of their business.
