FiveFold Productions LLC Wins Two Telly Awards for Inspiring Docu-Short About Real Beauty
"Real Beauty" wins two prestigious 2008 Telly Awards for inspiring docu-short about how teen girls perceive beauty.
Los Angeles, CA, August 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- FiveFold Productions LLC, the Los Angeles based, woman-owned production company, won two Bronze Telly awards in the categories of Social Issues and Charitable/Not-for-Profit for their production of the docu-short, “Real Beauty” for the Step Up Women’s Network and Dove Self-Esteem Fund.
Said Kimberly Goodman, Co-Founder of FiveFold Productions, “It was such an amazing experience to be able to follow this group of young women and to witness the transformation in their self-esteem as they discovered their voice through storytelling.” “We are really honored to have been chosen from 14,000 entries to receive these awards,” said Henri Hebert, FiveFold Productions Co-founder.
“Real Beauty” follows at-risk teen girls from a Los Angeles charter school in the inner city, who were learning how to become filmmakers as part of the Step Up Women’s Network’s teen empowerment program, in collaboration with the Dove Self-Esteem Fund. The girls’ films had to answer the question, “what is real beauty to you?” The girls were challenged to redefine stereotypical views of beauty and each girl met this challenge from a unique prospective. “Real Beauty” documents their journey of self-discovery.
