British author Kadi Soltanian has written her first book of poetry, or verse, depending on your take on these things. Entitled “The Writers Affliction”. It has been published on Lulu.com, the online marketplace for digital content.
Ms Soltanian has written this book entirely while on vacation in the beautiful country of Morocco, which you will find brings inspiration to many of her poems. The book consists of both love poems, and observational, sometimes controversial poems.
The source of much of Ms Soltanian’s ideas comes from the everyday things we see and feel in our busy lives, and her observation of others, and how they work through these things.
Ms Soltanian says: “I would never have thought I was the type of person to write a book of poems, which if you read my first entry will explain my feelings about such things, but it seems we can all be bitten by the inspiration bug, and when it bites we have to scratch that itch.”
Ok so what makes this book worth the interest? Well it could be the raw emotions that come out in some of the poems, or it could be that it is just something new, that is for the readers to decide. It is by no means a classical poetry book, and will probably distress those of the literary community who focus on how things should be, but that is not the object of this book, the object is to make people laugh, and yes sometimes maybe even cry, but most of all to bring pleasure to it’s readers.
