Celebrity Investors Kevin Connolly, Sam Cassell, Cuttino Mobley and Tony Riviera are pleased to announce the grand opening of Cristoni Pizzeria, set to open it's doors in the first week of September, 2008.
Los Angeles, CA, August 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Cristoni Pizzeria announces the grand opening of its flagship location at 8539 Sunset Boulevard. The restaurant will allow Angelenos to sample authentic Neapolitan style pizza in a hip Sunset Strip location. In addition to serving delicious food, Cristoni is the answer to a need for late night dining. The restaurant is open daily and offers a take out menu with plans to begin delivery in the coming months. Notable investors in the project are Tony Riviera (Primo Hospitality Group, Caffe Primo), Kevin Connolly (Entourage), Sam Cassell (Boston Celtics) and Cuttino Mobley (LA Clippers). “I decided to invest in Cristoni because it was an opportunity to partner with my friends on something that we all have in common, a love for Pizza and Italian food!” - Cuttino Mobley.
The concept for the Pizzeria was born from the group of friends, lamenting the lack of quality, “Italian style” pizza within their area. Kevin Connolly commented, “ I wanted a place with great food that I could come to with my friends after a night out”. Primary investor Tony Riviera offered his restaurant development expertise and culinary experience, and the project took off.
“We envisioned a place where that we could come to day or night to enjoy authentic, thin crust pizza and rustic Italian pasta”, said Sam Cassell. Cristoni Pizzeria boasts an extensive menu of classic Neapolitan style pies created under the direction of Enrico Sautto, a 4th generation Pizzaolo who was trained in the traditional methods of pizza making at his family’s world-renowned pizzeria - Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Naples, Italy.
Menu items include the classic staples, such as Margherita and Bianco, but guests will be pleased to find modern interpretations such as Pizza Tartufo – shaved black truffles, porcini mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese; Pizza Cristoni- ricotta crust with cherry tomatoes, smoked mozzarella, baby arugula, shaved Parmesan, truffle oil; and Pizza Dolce’ - ricotta cheese, walnuts, sliced pear, and mozzarella. In addition to the aforementioned menu items, Cristoni will feature 5 daily specials that utilize fresh seasonal ingredients creating an exciting and constantly evolving menu. For guests seeking a more personalized pizza, Cristoni offers diners the possibility to create pizzas specially tailored to their preferences and individual palate by ordering from an a-la-carte menu of toppings. The 10-inch pies will range in price from $9 - $24.
Upon entering the pizzeria, guests are enveloped by a casual yet lively atmosphere. Menu items are hand-written on chalkboards, which hang above a marble countertop in front of the pizza oven. The floor plan offers an open layout, allowing diners to observe the creation of their pizza after ordering. Three large rich wood and leather banquettes provide an intimate dining experience perfect for any size group, from a table of two to a party of eight.
