Speculative Realms Plan an Online Book Launch Party That Will Last for More Than 24 Hours
Writers from three major continents have joined forces to publish a speculative fiction anthology. Edited by Sasha Beattie and co-ordinated by Karen Lee Field, the anthology’s publication will be celebrated with a 24-hour+ online book launch party on 1 September 2008. Free copies of the book will be given away at the party.
Sydney, Australia, August 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Thirteen authors from different corners of the world are proud to announce the publication of the anthology entitled “Speculative Realms: Where there’s a will, there’s a way”. As these authors are wide spread – Australia, United States, Canada, Netherlands and UK – it is intended to celebrate the book launch with an online party that will last for more than 24-hour on Monday 1 September 2008.
“The authors are excited about the publication and having a party is the best way to celebrate,” said Ms Field. “As the authors live in different time zones, we will provide a public forum for the day. The authors will provide details about where their story ideas came from, the problems they had whilst writing the story and why they chose the characters and settings. They will also come online several times during the party to answer any questions visitors may ask.”
Visitors will be encouraged to participate and by doing so could win a copy of the anthology.
"At the end of the day, three lucky visitors will each win a free copy of the book. Excluding the authors, everyone who writes a legitimate post in the public forum will automatically have their names entered into the competition and could win,” said Ms Field.
Due to time zone differences, the online party will last for as long as some part of the world is still the 1st September 2008. That will make for one long party.
The book being launched is “Speculative Realms: Where there’s a will, there’s a way”. The stories all fit the theme “where there’s a will, there’s a way”, yet things are not always what they seem. Demons, technology, powerful mages, dragons and love all have a part to play.
The book is currently available in printed form from Lulu, but will also be available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other online bookstores in coming weeks. The recommended retail price is $15.95. The book is also available for download as an ebook from Lulu for only $5.00.
