Nonprofit Opening Coincides with Women’s Equality Day.

Durham, NC, August 22, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Lt. Governor Bev Perdue will deliver the opening remarks during the Dress for Success Triangle NC ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony will officially open the organization’s services at Northgate Mall in Durham and coincides with Women’s Equality Day.

“No matter who you are, or where you come from, every citizen that is willing to work hard deserves a shot at self-sufficiency and the American Dream,” said Lt. Governor Bev Perdue. “Together, with Dress for Success, we can help ensure North Carolina is a state where all women have an equal opportunity to excel.”

“You showed and gave me compassion, sensitivity, and empathy. All of you are truly a blessing, to me, my daughter and future clients,” said Valerie (last name withheld), a single mother who recently secured a job and received additional employment attire.

“When I see people’s lives changed and touched by others who take the time to care, it really makes our jobs rewarding and fulfilling,” added Sarina Neal, a job developer with the Work First program.

The ribbon cutting ceremony, entitled “Success Suits Her,” coincides with the establishment of Women’s Equality Day. Women’s Equality Day was first recognized in 1971 and commemorates the 1920 passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which granted women in the United States the right to vote.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Monday, August 25, 2008, from 9-10 am in Macy’s Court at Northgate Mall. Joining the Lt. Governor will be Liz Carey, executive vice president Dress for Success Worldwide, Pat Nathan, founder of the Triangle affiliate, as well as referral partners and clients that the organization has served.

Dress for Success Triangle NC, incorporated March 19, 2008, recently partnered with local companies such as Progress Energy, Crescent State Bank, Cisco, i3, Piedmont Investments, Red Hat, RTI International and others to collect business-appropriate attire for its clients.
