Corona del Mar Restaurant and Lounge Premieres New Upscale Look and Refined Dining Experience

Newport Beach, CA, August 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Firmly established as one of Orange County’s top dining destinations, Landmark reopens seven days a week. The re-opening follows a complete renovation to the restaurant’s spacious and decidedly intimate dining rooms, lounge and outdoor patio, providing a fresh take on classic and contemporary surroundings. The warm atmosphere and cordial service will play host to the special emphasis placed on the food, wine and overall dining experience. The menu by Executive Chef Sabre Kennedy will highlight the best of contemporary California cuisine with his special touch of Island fusion. The offering and presentation will be sophisticated enough for a celebratory meal, but casual enough for weekday dining.

Landmark’s new look maintains a sophisticated air and ambiance. Traditional dark wood paneled walls framed with upholstered insets set the tone, as do rustic hardwood floors and the distinctive and modern appeal of zebrawood furnishings. Cream leather upholstered designer chairs and comfortable brown leather banquets provide comfort and stimulating contrast. Uniquely exquisite coral chandeliers in the main dinning areas cast a soft and particularly warm glow.

Patrons will enjoy the addition of high-back booth seating, which offer comfort and privacy for parties large or small. Nostalgic black and white images of famous historical landmarks dot the walls throughout the restaurant, as do a number of large flat panel monitors playing homage to vintage Hollywood classics. For the convenience of event planners, the restaurant’s three separate dining rooms satisfy diverse occasions from large special events, dinner, cocktail and wine parties to more intimate private gatherings.

The spacious, albeit cozy lounge is framed by the addition of a classic baby grand piano and the warming effects of the adjacent fireplace. Patrons will now be able to relax and enjoy live piano entertainment while sipping on a pre-dinner cocktail. The centerpiece is a new 37-foot rectangular bar featuring a polished lava ash top and dark zebrawood base.

To ensure a high level of innovation for its cuisine, proprietor and second-generation restaurateur Mario Marovic and business partner Brian Pezzolla have brought back Sabre Kennedy, the former chef of Fleming’s Steakhouse, and just recently Silvera’s to recreate the menu for Landmark. An exciting culinary experience, his island-style cooking is a unique craft sure to stimulate and the senses.

Chef Kennedy worked with numerous sommeliers, wineries and distributors in selecting a wine list that compliment his truly unique cuisine. The resulting selection offers an array of both boutique and well-known wines that will cater to the most discerning of palates. New Landmark Manger Brian Shaw, along with Lead Server Mark Tebha and chief Kennedy are on hand to answer questions and offer the most suitable pairings. Landmark diners will also be enticed by a rich selection of signature desserts and palate absorbing sorbets.

Furthering your dining and entertainment pleasure, on special engagements Landmark will spice things up with an all-new burlesque attraction, offering patrons a unique Supper Club experience, not found anywhere in Orange County. Weekend after-dinner dancing will return for dining and bottle service guests. The luxury of bottle service will also be extended to the renovated outdoor patio, featuring several private areas including comfortable lounge style sectionals and tables accented by defused contemporary lighting. A new outdoor bar has also been added for convenience. Combined with Southern California’s ideal climate, the patio setting provides a relaxing, mood-setting experience.

A perennial hot spot since opening in 2005, Landmark is located blocks from the Pacific Ocean in the heart of Corona Del Mar. Landmark will be open for dinner each day from 5:00pm to 10:30pm.
