Press Release: Executive Chef Sabre Kennedy Brings Culinary Artistry to Corona del Mar's Landmark
Kennedy brings his unique island-style cooking techniques offering a fresh spin to the restaurant's contemporary California cuisine.
Newport Beach, CA, August 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Landmark Restaurant and Lounge welcomes back Sabre Kennedy as Executive Chef. Kennedy previously held the position at Landmark from its original opening in 2005 continuing through 2007.
Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Chef Kennedy brings to Landmark his unique island style cooking techniques, offering a fresh spin on the contemporary California cuisine.
Kennedy fine-tuned his craft at Seattle Central Culinary Academy where he graduated with honors, but credits his parents for his core cooking experience. “Both my parents are amazing cooks.” Said Kennedy. “My Mother owned a small restaurant and a couple bakeries so I literally grew up in the kitchen. And I learned the island style way of cooking from my Father and his Hawaiian and Chinese family recipes and generations of unique cooking methods.” Commenting on Kennedy’s return to Landmark, managing owner Mario Marovic said “We are pleased to have Sabre back where he belongs. His creative culinary style and expertise has helped define Landmark as a top dining destination in CDM and throughout Orange County.”
Kennedy’s knack for creating gastronomic pleasures is visually pleasing as they are appetizing. From Blue Pepper Crab Cakes, Hawaiian Ahi Poke and Seared Yellowtail Carpaccio to Filet Mignon, Macadamia Nut Halibut or his signature Chilean Seabass, each dish is a masterful work of culinary artistry meant to be thoroughly enjoyed and excite the senses.
Prior to Landmark, Kennedy led the culinary teams at various established restaurants including PF Chang’s China Bistro, Fleming’s Steakhouse and Silvera’s.
A perennial hot spot since opening in 2005, Landmark is located blocks from the Pacific Ocean in the heart of Corona Del Mar. Landmark is open for dinner each day from 5:00pm to 10:30pm. Cocktails are served until 12:30am Sunday through Thursdays and until 1:30am Friday and Saturday. Dinner reservations, as well as private party, catering, wine pairing, and bottle service information can be obtained by calling 949.675.5556 or visiting www.landmarknewport.com.
