New York, NY, August 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Carnival of Memories - Moving account of one family’s quest for freedom, love, and life in-between.
Meet Lyana Lagos, and follow her as she describes her life and personal experiences being the daughter of a Dominican family that escapes one of the bloodiest dictatorships of the 20th century.

Carnival of Memories follows one family’s saga inspired by the lifetime of memories of heroine, Lagos, who gracefully narrates her family’s journey from the Dominican Republic to the streets of New York City. Lagos lets readers follow along and experience firsthand the struggles of growing up in between two opposing cultures and wrestling with such famous marks in history including the Beat Generation, the Flower Power Revolution, and Vietnam War.
Lyana Lagos regales the reader with a witty chronological mural of the exciting exploits and loves of her youth while disseminating her life story with a unique sense of flavor and raw emotion. Lagos narrates through her first sexual experience, disintegration of her parent’s relationship, and friend’s near-death encounter while terminating an unwanted pregnancy with a sense of reality one cannot fathom from watching present-day realty shows. Carnival of Memories is a story that no one should go without reading.
