Bureau Veritas Launches Ecodesign Solutions Worldwide
Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services chooses EIME as its Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Tool for clients worldwide
Paris, France, August 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- EIME, the LCA Software and database developed and owned by CODDE, has been chosen by Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services as the ecodesign solution for its clients worldwide. Bureau Veritas acquired CODDE, a leading provider of Ecodesign/LCA solutions to the consumer and industrial product industries earlier this year. Since its conception in 1998, EIME has achieved market acceptance worldwide with many global manufacturers having used it to improve their products’ environmental performance and to achieve greater market penetration and sales from green claims. EIME can be used by consumer and industrial product manufacturers/retailers who can benefit from their leading position in the Electrical and Electronics sector with its extensive database of environmental impact criteria for electronic components and comparative ease of use.
Joe Jordison, Vice President – Global Product Management and Strategy at Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services states, “In today’s environmentally conscious market, our clients are seeing increasing demand to “green” their product and demonstrate corporate responsibility. Being a leading solutions partner to the Consumer Products industry; and with this trend on the increase as the world goes green and ecodesign regulations get adopted, it was critical that we were able to deliver a leading solution to our clients worldwide. The acquisition of CODDE and global roll out of EIME meets this demand. Clients have the option of working with our experts to integrate EIME and ecodesign into their design process or they can simply provide data to us on a product by product basis and we can deliver a LCA Footprint / declaration.”
Linda Lescuyer, General Manager of CODDE continues, “Businesses, governments, and consumers all have a need for credible information covering the environmental impact and performance of a product. Environmental Declarations using our EIME software simply, and effectively, communicate a product’s environmental footprint and can be compared against previous models, industry averages, or competitor’s products; an invaluable sales and marketing tool. Being part of Bureau Veritas with our extensive network and service portfolio, we can not only deliver EIME to a worldwide market; more importantly, clients can benefit from an industry leading solution to environmental impact assessment/improvement as well as associated solutions such as chemical management and testing/inspection/certification.”
