Custom IDX Broker Search Tools Help John Kelly Fulfill His Client’s Property Needs
IDX Broker uses its custom IDX solution to speed up the real estate search, saving both realtors and consumers time.
Eugene, OR, August 30, 2008 --(PR.com)-- IDX, Inc. welcomes John Kelly with IBR Realty to the database of real estate professionals choosing to personalize the property search experience for their clients with the addition of IDX Broker software. The internet data exchange software (IDX) automatically extracts raw data from the Northstar MLS (Northstar) and formats it to be displayed as an integrated part of Kelly’s site. Clients of Kelly can now browse thousands of Northstar listings and narrow down their options using customized IDX search tools.
The custom IDX solution offers sophisticated search options such as a map search that allow clients to view the property and surrounding territory using a satellite map powered by Google maps to judge the distance of the property from major landmarks, roads, and cities. Search categories included on the advanced search offer clients to specify amenities such as fence type, exterior material, roof style, type of garage, and heating source and indicate location preference by choosing school district, zoning description, or waterfront type. All of the formatted IDX data displayed on the integrated results page of Kelly’s site is pulled directly from Northstar and is updated automatically to provide the most up-to-date listings.
IDX Broker includes an administrative log in for agents that offers them tools to better manage their website without requiring extra time offering features such as traffic reports detailing which pages are being viewed most frequently, statistical updates from the MLS, and a new lead management section that includes client contact information. This dashboard also allows Kelly to edit his custom CSS, and format his wrappers so that the IDX data appears to be an integrated part of his website and is identical in appearance to the rest of his branding.

“I was born in San Clemente, California where my father was stationed as a Marine. The small 2 bedroom home that my parents rented is now worth over half a million dollars. It just goes to show you that location is everything. After leaving the Marines, my father earned a doctorate in exercise physiology, and in 1967 he moved our family to St. Cloud Minnesota where he served as a professor at St. Cloud State University until 1999. My mother spent 30 years as a real estate broker in the St. Cloud area, so I guess you could say I have real estate in my blood. My earliest participation in real estate involved doing lawn work, painting, cleaning, and routine maintenance on some of my mom’s listings. Even at 12 or 13 years old, I was noticing that after I painted and cleaned her properties, they sold faster than other listings. I graduated from St. Cloud Apollo high school in 1979, and from St. Olaf College in 1983. My wife and I spent a number of years living in the Cherokee Park neighborhood of St. Paul. More recently we moved to Rosemount where we live with our 3 children. I have been a Saint Paul area real estate agent for over 20 years.”
