Local PR and Advertising Agency Helps to Rebrand New Jersey Microbrewery
Totowa, NJ, June 02, 2004 --(PR.com)-- PFS Marketwyse, an integrated advertising, marketing and communications firm in Totowa, NJ, announced today the new brand identity launch of Cricket Hill Beer, a NJ-based microbrewery located in Fairfield. Featuring bold and decisive designs and packaging, the new look is the first step in a brand awareness campaign to launch Cricket Hill’s unique microbrews to the growing national audience of specialty beer drinkers.
After feedback from retail partners on the homegrown look of the packaging, Cricket Hill decided that a new direction was needed to compete in the national and international beverage market. With its Jersey-shore motif packaging and beach-themed colors, the brand was designed for sale only in the Garden State.
“In the ultra-competitive retail environment, the power of branding cannot be underestimated,” said Jason Miletsky, CEO and creative director of PFS Marketwyse. “Personality and attitude are needed to cut through the clutter of all the different brands in the beverage market.”
Cricket Hill was established in May 2001 with its first beers becoming available in January 2002. Using fresh ingredients, natural flavors and no filler grains, Cricket Hill’s distinct-tasting beers gained positive feedback and popularity in bars and local establishments throughout New Jersey. To take its beers to the next level of distribution, Cricket Hill understood that they needed a new look.
“PFS showed sensitivity toward a young company that was just starting to grow but had foresight that demonstrated our big vision of the future,” says Rick Reed, president of Cricket Hill.
PFS designed a more sophisticated style for Cricket Hill’s unique take on its American Ale, East Coast Lager and IPA Hopnotic brands. Set against a black background, the labeling/packaging features minimal images and unique use of the Base 12 family of fonts. Standard on every bottle and package is the Cricket Hill signature cricket head logo. The daring and attractive packaging is quickly garnering out-of-state interest from consumers and distributors.
“Our initial branding was designed to attract a New Jersey audience, which it did, and we didn’t have to worry about interstate labeling or marketing efforts outside of New Jersey,” said Rick Reed. “Because of our exciting new look and brand identity among the three beers we currently sell, we are getting interest outside of the state for distribution.”
The company can count well-known distributors in Brooklyn and Pennsylvania among its client roster, along with many more showing an interest in being a part of the Cricket Hill family.
