Bönnigheim, Germany, September 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- expecco®webEdition decreases the effort to test websites, for greater confidence in functionality, security and performance.
German company eXept Software AG released recently the expecco® webEdition, which provides a graphical programming environment to automate the test of web interfaces. expecco® webEdition ensures the consistent functionally of web-applications, without the error-prone and manually intensive test this has usually involved.
expecco® webEdition is a dedicated derivative of the successful expecco test and quality management system. Events and information from a website can be easily captured. Comprehensive block libraries allow a comfortable expansion of the test plan to check functionality, security and performance of a website. The test is presented as an UML-activity diagram and can be customized using drag & drop. Logically related processes can be combined creating new blocks which provide optimal reusability.
The test runs using the normal browser window. Support for the standard browsers also helps uncover browser-specific issues. Tests can also run automatically, for example every evening to guard against deterioration of performance. The results are presented in an easily interpreted report, with graphical pass, fail and alert icons. They are also available in reports, or can be communicated by e-mail or SMS, for example, for a critical failure.
As the site develops and grows, tests can be adapted and the test plan can be expanded. Importantly, existing functionality can be tested alongside the developments with no incremental test effort. This ensures against the effects of unwanted interactions. An upgrade path to expecco® developer makes it possible to develop further libraries and blocks.
“What is important, is that expecco® webEdition minimizes the effort to perform the tests,” says Bettina Gittinger, CEO at eXept Software AG. “Whether it is for regression, functional or integration testing, this makes it easy to maximize the test coverage. And that ensures Internet applications can deliver secure, high-quality and error-free results.”
Steffen Jung, Manager Sales & Marketing suggests: “This system is suited excellent for automating recurring tasks such as filling in a form. expecco® webEdition can be tested for 30 days free of charge and is available as download on www.exept.de.
