Miami-Dade County Sister Cities Program Selects Miami Artist George Rodez

Miami, FL, September 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Miami-Dade County Sister Cities Coordinating Council and Arts Committee will host the Meet the Artists reception on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Trattoria Sole Restaurant located at 5894 Sunset Drive in South Miami. The reception will gather artists who will participate in the 6th Annual Sister Cities Art Exhibit, as well as honor artist George Rodez, who was unanimously selected by the Committee to use his entry, “Entering Through the Window to Your Soul”, as the poster and front cover of the Miami-Dade Celebrates the Art of Its Sister Cities catalog.

The Miami-Dade County Sister Cities Program and Miami-Dade College celebrate the Sixth Annual "Miami-Dade Celebrates the Art of Its Sister Cities exhibit." It will be held from September 23rd through October 7, 2008, at Miami-Dade College’s Tower Theater, 1508 SW 8 St., Miami, Fl. This year’s theme will be “Celebrating Our Diversity.”

The art exhibit and sale will be composed of works by artists representing those countries which have Sister Cities affiliations with Miami-Dade County, as well as works of art that reflect the Mission of Sister Cities International which is to promote peace, mutual respect, understanding and cooperation.

This international exhibit will be open to the public. The opening reception, which last year drew more than 250 art enthusiasts and community leaders, will once again celebrate the artistic diversity of Miami-Dade County. In conjunction with the event, an exhibit catalogue will be distributed.

Net proceeds from the exhibit will benefit the Miami-Dade County Sister Cities Program.
