iUniverse Would Like to Announce the Release of Squiggie's Night Out by Alice Gensler
Bloomington, IN, September 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Author Writes Family-Focused Children’s Book.
Storyline Includes Themes of Family Unity and Determination.
Ingenious topics for creative writing can stem from just about anywhere. Alice Gensler’s inspiration came from her cat, Mocha’s, peculiar behavior after catching a mouse—Mocha played with it incessantly until it was exhausted and covered in cat drool, and then let it go free, unharmed. This instance set the stage for Gensler’s fictional children’s book about one mouse’s heroic journey in Squiggie’s Night Out.
Squiggie’s Night Out is the tale of Squiggie the mouse and his daring attempts to find food for his family after his dad’s disappearance. Feeling responsible to provide for his mother and twin sisters, Squiggie first ventures out on a journey to the barn that is so dangerous it nearly costs him and his cousins their lives—Jinks, the barn cat was waiting for them.
Squiggie’s determination leads him on a second mission on a stormy night into Farmer Brown’s house. What he finds awaiting him takes all of his bravery and ingenuity to make his mission a success and return safely to his family.
Using her natural creative writing abilities, Gensler cleverly creates a page-turner by leaving cliff-hangers at the end of each chapter, intriguing readers to continue on from one chapter to the next. Her intent is to draw more children into reading, spending less time in front of the T.V. or computer.
Honored by her publisher, iUniverse, with Editor’s Choice and Publisher’s Choice awards, Squiggie’s Night Out captivates children with its family-oriented storyline and loveable characters. Themes of determination and persistence create a positive backdrop for a story in which children can easily become engrossed.
