Learn Green / Live Green Announces Inaugural Event to Promote Eco-Friendly Family Lifestyle Options
Northeast Ohio Event to Raise Money for The Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America.
Akron, OH, September 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Learn Green / Live Green has announced its first annual event to introduce and educate the community about the benefits of sustainable living practices, non-toxic products, and natural and organic foods for a more eco-friendly and healthy lifestyle. This fun, festive and informative one-day expo is targeted to both businesses and families and will be held at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, Ohio on April 18, 2009. Adults and children alike, will be entertained, educated and inspired to take action for making a difference towards a healthier body and a greener tomorrow.
The vision of Learn Green / Live Green is to empower residents of Northeast Ohio to live a greener, cleaner lifestyle. Founder Suzanne Balch believes that the key to raising the community awareness of healthier family choices is through positive and fun education. “We should be doing more than celebrating our environment one day a year on Earth Day.” said Balch. “That’s a great start but the challenge is how to improve our quality of life each and every day and build upon these successes. I hope this event serves as a positive inspiration and call to action for people in our region.”
During the event, exhibitors will showcase products and services to educate consumers on how to make their next purchase or service a more healthy or sustainable one. Vendors are encouraged to sell their organic and natural products at the event itself making it a convenient venue to spur attendees to make positive changes right away.
The Learn Green / Live Green event shifts from exhibition by day to black-tie gala in the evening to raise funds for the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America. The Wanda Hunt Band’s “old school” rhythm and blues will energize the attendees as they feast on organic hors d’oeuvres. Highlights also include a silent and live auction. Tickets are $75 per attendee, with a portion tax deductible, and discounts are available to exhibitors and corporate sponsors. Gala sponsorships and auction donations are welcome.
The Learn Green / Live Green Expo is presented by All-Scan, LLC to benefit the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Sponsors to date include: Airguard; LeadingEdgePurification.com; Hy Hopes for Hunger; EarthWatch Ohio, Inc.; 89.7 WKSU; Repros, Inc.; MinutemanPress; Mascot Shop; GAP; Xandra Renouvelle. Sponsorships are still available.

AAFA provides practical information, community based services and support to people through a network of Regional Chapters, Educational Support Groups and other Local Partners around the U.S
