Perez Hilton Praise Velvet Code
Velvet Code is on their way to stardom after celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, features "Say You Love Me."
New York, NY, September 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Unsigned electronic synth rockers Velvet Code are well on their way to becoming the next big hit after being featured by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton last week.
Touted as one of the key playmakers in the music industry these days, Hilton has a fine tuned ear to the newest, hottest acts around the world. His approval of Velvet Code’s debut single, “Say You Love Me” gave Velvet Code a much needed boost last week, sparking over 50,000 MySpace plays over the course of 3 days, and igniting the interest of key major labels and booking agents.
“It was quite a shock to hear on a Monday afternoon,” says Marlon, Frontman and Songwriter for Velvet Code. “It completely changed my entire day. My phone was ringing off the hook and my email inbox was flooded with congratulations messages from fans and street teamers. I can’t wait to see what happens next.”
The most immediate effect of the Perez Hilton blog for Velvet Code has been the interest of retailer, Hot Topic. The band has been offered a merchandise deal which will go into effect in December. The initial stores where merchandise will be made available has not yet been determined.
Velvet Code is a trio based out of New York and New Jersey, produced by Grammy nominated producer Mark Saunders (Shiny Toy Guns, The Cure, Tricky) and Ollie Hammett.
The band continues their fall tour schedule including headlining an October 8th show at Sullivan Hall in New York at 9 pm, and supporting Jeffree Star on October 29th at Garden State Music Factory in Maplewood, New Jersey at 7 pm.
Velvet Code’s debut album, titled “Black. Blue. Blind.”, is set to be released in the early months of 2009.
