Dominique Pando of Magic Sound Studio Creates the Score for an Award-Winning Short Film

Dominique Pando of Magic Sound Studio Creates the Score for an Award-Winning Short Film in Miami's 48 Hour Film Project – all within a 3 Hour Deadline.

Miami, FL, September 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Creativity under pressure? No problem. Dominique Pando of Magic Sound Studio was asked to compose and arrange a score for the Beverly Boy Productions’ short film “Hearing Huny,” and---here’s the catch---it had to be completed in less than three hours. She did it. “Hearing Huny” went on to win 3 awards in the 48 Hour Film Project's 8th annual short film competition in Miami. At the contest’s film screening at Byron Carlyle Theater on Miami Beach, “Hearing Huny” was voted Audience Favorite. The 88's Dueling Pianos Bar at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida held the awards ceremony on September 5, 2008.

Miami was one of over 70 cities that took part in the 48 Hour Film Project this year (http://www.48hourfilm.com/). Forty-five Miami filmmaking crews were given a character name, a prop, and a line of dialogue, all to be included in the short film, --- and only 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, and score it.

The 48 Hour Film Project is designed to promote filmmakers and sound experts. The tight 48 hour deadline encourages them to finely hone their creativity and teamwork skills. Dominique Pando and the Beverly Boy Productions team met the deadline and created a film well-liked enough to be chosen Audience Favorite. “Hearing Huny” also won Best Use of Prop and Best Special Effects. Of the 45 films, “Hearing Huny” was one of the top 3 that won multiple awards, winning in every category for which it was nominated.

Dominique Pando of Magic Sound Studio (http://www.magicsoundstudio.com) is good at what she does. She creates well under pressure, and she has an unusual ability to artistically capture in music --- in original and unique ways --- the theme and tone of what has been created in video. The Beverly Boy Production crew of Miami (http://www.beverlyboy.com/), including Ken J.B., Keith Wade, Tavares Beverly, and Anthony Dones, were well pleased with her audio accompaniment to their award-winning short film. Dominique is currently working with them on a feature length film called "Life Happens."
