Horizon Monster Productions Restores Classic Radio Programs for Lybrary.com
Known primarily for video production and authoring marketing materials, St. Louis based Horizon Monster Productions recently restored two vintage radio shows, Blackstone the Magic Detective and Chandu the Magician, for digital download site Lybrary.com.
St. Louis, MO, September 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Horizon Monster Productions is primarily known for affordable video production and other marketing services for small business and performers. They have recently departed from their usual work to restore two classic radio series for Lybrary.com, a digital download retailer specializing in magic, chess and bridge material. All known episodes of Blackstone the Magic Detective and 23 episodes of the 1949 version of Chandu the Magician were restored.
Great effort was taken to preserve the original radio sound of the episodes while removing the clicks, pops and distortions that are found in the commonly available recordings. Horizon Monster Productions owner Michael Lauck is a self-described “old time radio fanatic” who said of the releases: “This was so much fun. I have thousands of hours of old time radio in my personal collection and have been wanting to do something like this for years.” He reports that the digitally restored versions are much more listener friendly for anyone using headphones. “These are the full package: large, high quality files with new cover art, tags and more,” according to Lauck. “We are really proud of these MP3s.”
Lybrary.com is offering the each series as both digital downloads or on a data disc with all available episodes. All 56 existing episodes of Blackstone the Magic Detective, a 15 minute show, can be purchased on disc for $14.99 or in downloadable bundles of 6 episodes for $3.99. A disc containing the 23 available episodes of Chandu the Magician, which run approximately 30 minutes each, is priced at $20 and double episodes downloads for $3.99.

About Horizon Monster Productions:
Founded in late 2003 by Michael and Polly Lauck, Horizon Monster Production’s mission was to provide affordable professional onsite videography and video production to small business. Polly, who holds a degree in production, was inspired to start the company after seeing a poorly produced magic instructional DVD Michael had purchased. After establishing themselves by producing everything from low budget music videos to DVDs of special events, Polly decided to return to school to become an elementary school teacher. Michael, an experienced freelance writer and performing magician, took full control of the operations of the company and has since concentrated on producing instructional video projects, demo reels and highlight films.
