Chopstix Chinese Restaurant Celebrates Twenty-Four Years of Serving Atlanta
Chopstix, Atlanta’s original gourmet Chinese restaurant, is celebrating its twenty-fourth anniversary this September.
Atlanta, GA, September 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Chopstix, one of the most critically acclaimed Chinese restaurants in Atlanta, is celebrating its 24th anniversary during the month of September. Diners can expect to enjoy a number of specials that highlight older dishes from the restaurant’s long, storied past, as well as the usual excellent Chinese fine dining and takeout experience that the restaurant has become known for.
Philip and Myrna Chan started the first gourmet Chinese restaurant in Atlanta in 1984. Though it was at the same Buckhead location as it is today, the restaurant looked a lot different. The space was roughly a quarter of the size it is today, and their Chinese takeout and dine-in menus were written only on a chalk board. From the very beginning Chopstix enticed Atlanta fine dining patrons with their early original creations, such as Chopstix Chicken and Bird’s Nest Prawns.
Though customers have always been able to enjoy great Chinese food at Chopstix, the restaurant did not always include the piano bar and the private dining room that it is now known for. It took a total of four expansions to turn Chopstix’s humble beginning into the critically acclaimed gourmet Chinese restaurant that it is today. Philip Chan had a vision for what he wanted Chopstix to look like from the beginning; this Atlanta and Buckhead dining staple is the result of his vision for a restaurant serving innovative Chinese food to match Buckhead’s sophisticated tastes.
As Chopstix celebrates its past, Chan and managed Alvin Yin look towards the future as well. Yin has said it is possible that Chopstix will eventually open additional restaurants, bring its unique Chinese food to other parts of the Atlanta area. Whatever the future may bring, Chopstix remains committed to providing excellent Chinese dining and Chinese takeout to the people of Buckhead and Atlanta, just as they have for the past twenty-four years.
