Not Everyone Goes Home: Valley Shore Mutual Aid Association Will Host Firefighter Training Seminar

Old Saybrook, CT, September 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Valley Shore Mutual Aid Association will host a one-day firefighter training symposium on fire ground safety and the art of reading smoke on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008.

The training seminar, which is a two-part event, will be held at the Old Saybrook Senior High School at 1111 Boston Post Road. The daylong event will begin at 8 a.m. and is open to firefighters and emergency responders.

The morning session will feature Deputy Fire Chief Billy Goldfeder, who is the co-host of www.firefighterclosecalls.com. His topic will be "Scared Straight: Fireground Injury and Death. Not Everyone Goes Home." Goldfeder is well-known and respected in the firefighting community and is a strong advocate for firefighter safety.

The afternoon session will feature David Dodson from Response Solutions, who will offer his popular presentation titled "The Art of Reading Smoke: Firefighter Safety and Incident Handling."
