Contest Gives High Schools a Chance to "Win the Ultimate Prom" with $25,000 Prize

National contest gives one high school the chance to win $25,000 to use towards the prom of their dreams.

Scottsdale, AZ, September 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Starting this week, every high school in the nation now has a chance to win $25,000 to use for prom or any other school project with the annual Win the Ultimate Prom (WUP) contest. In order to win the grand prize, a school has to generate the most votes during the two month duration with the contest ending on November 15, 2008 and winners announced on December 1, 2008.

“Proms are always the highlight of the school year, and this contest gives schools the chance to make them as memorable as possible,” says Lonnie Sweeney of VERGO Marketing. “The winning school gets the chance to have an amazing prom, but since the money can be used however the schools want, this money can also go to other things like grad night, local charities, or community service activities. It’s ultimately up to the school and student council to determine where the money goes.”

This current contest marks WUP’s third season and is slated to be bigger and better than ever. There is now a second place prize of $5,000 along with exciting weekly prizes to be announced throughout the contest. WUP has also partnered with some exciting bands; Between the Trees, Sick of Sarah, Crash Midnight, Jonathan Clay, and Slow Motion Red Lights that may make appearances at different proms throughout the country.

Students, parents, faculty members and administrators, relatives and friends are all eligible to vote by registering at http://www.WintheUltimateProm.com. Each person can vote once per day, every day by visiting the website or voting by text with a registered cell phone number.

WUP offers students a variety of tools to help them get organized and win at http://www.WintheUltimateProm.com. The website features real-time voting results of the top high schools, contest details, frequently asked questions, and downloads of promotional items. The “Idea Bank” provides ideas on how to promote WUP around school including morning announcement scripts, videos, graphic banners, t-shirt iron-ons and more.

Win the Ultimate Prom is sponsored by Grand Canyon University (GCU), one of the fastest growing private Christian universities in the country, and managed by VERGO Marketing, an educational marketing agency, both based in Phoenix, Arizona.
