"Footprints, Smiles and Little White lies was a six year labor of love," said Dr. Janik in a personal interview, "Over the past forty years, I received and was still receiving requests from avid fans for a compilation of my most popular verses. Given the freedom to include some of what I consider the best of my lessor known works as well, made it happen."
In the work, Dr. Janik, a professional writer residing in Honolulu, Hawaii, touches vividly on a number of crucial social issues of 1960's that have, according to him, seemingly begun resurfacing again in the 2000's. Dr. Janik has been writing and reading his poems at colleges and universities across the USA since they were first written.
Daniel S. Janik was born in Chicago, Illinois. He lived for number of years in Alaska when it was still at territory. He has written numerous books and articles under a variety of pen names. A retired physician, he currently teaches English and writing at Intercultural Communications College in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, where he is also Director of American Academic Programs. His wife, Setsuko Tsuchiya, is also a professional writer.
