Trichotillomania Awareness Month Open House Support Mixers In Philadelphia and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
On Sunday, October 5, 2008 and on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, The Secret Mane Salon will host two educational open house mixers for Trichotillomania Awareness Month.
Philadelphia, PA, September 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Secret Mane Salon will be hosting two individual educational open house mixers for people with Trichotillomania, in honor of October’s Trichotillomania Awareness Month, and in association with the Trichotillomania Learning Center.
More than 50% of The Secret Mane’s clientele are people suffering from Trichotillomania or Trich – a compulsive hair pulling disorder which erodes the physical appearance and self esteem of people battling this OCD related disorder. With their years of experience in building up the hair health and morale of their clients, along with their trademarked “Mane For A Year” program, The Secret Mane Salon has helped countless Trich sufferers to break the hair pulling cycle. Secret Mane owner Charlene Blacer has helped her clients’ hair to grow back up to eight inches. The “Mane For A Year” Program consists of strategic placement of hair pieces which then transition into hair extensions and partial hair extensions as hair gets healthy and begins to grow back. Scalp treatments and hair supplements are also used to help the hair find its way back from the ravages of Trich. Unlike most professionals who work with Trich clients, Charlene Blacer never shaves the head, as this only defeats the purpose. Instead, hair is glued down underneath hairpieces, which breaks the hair pulling cycle quite successfully.
On Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 2pm, The Secret Mane Salon will be hosting an open house educational support mixer at their Philadelphia salon.
On Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 6pm, The Secret Mane Salon will be hosting another open house educational support mixer at their Stroudsburg salon.
Both events will include detailed demonstrations of various hair and scalp rejuvenation treatments, hairpiece and hair extension explanations, a show and tell of products and an explanation of The Secret Mane’s “Mane For A Year” program - to help restore the hair and break the hair pulling cycle for people with Trich. The event will also offer moral support and lots of socializing. There will also be snacks and soft drinks served.
