Peterborough, NH, October 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The NH High Technology Council today announced strong interest in the first annual Speed Venture Summit™. “Advance registrations by both companies and investors have exceeded expectations,” commented Summit Chair Hollis McGuire, director of the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center for Manchester and Nashua. “This validates the timing and goals of the Summit,” McGuire continued, “to bring businesses and capital together.”
“We are very pleased by the high quality of the firms that have been selected to attend,” said Tim Platt, marketing producer for the Summit. Among a long list of leading venture capital firms, “Ascent Venture Partners, Borealis Ventures, Charles River Ventures, Castile Ventures and Sigma Partners” plan to “join local angel groups eCoast Angel Network, Monadnock Angel Investors, and Northeast Angels,” according to Platt. “They all subscribe to the “Real Time/Real Investors™” mission of the Summit.”
The Summit organizers also announced that a few companies had already been selected to pitch their growth story, including Powerhouse Enteprises, Single Digits, and Concord Power & Steam LLC. McGuire noted, “We have had many very exciting business cases presented, and we are very pleased to announce some of the strongest applicants, in advance of this week’s deadline.”
The Speed Venture Summit will feature businesses seeking investment capital pitching directly to top investors on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH.
Participating businesses will represent all sectors and development stages, from start-up to later-stage and will “speed pitch” to the region’s savviest and shrewdest investors, ranging from individuals and Angels to venture capital firms and private equity and mezzanine financers. Organizers expect that a total of approximately 50 companies will speed-pitch to 25 different investor groups in private 1:1 sessions throughout the afternoon.
Following the speed venturing segment, the Summit will feature a public business networking session that will include a pitch-off among the day’s top presenting companies.
