Orange County Martial Arts Seminar Feature's Bruce Lee's Kung Fu Training Device - the Wing Chun Wooden Dummy
Bruce Lee's kung fu training methods came to light in this Orange County martial arts training seminar featuring the Wing Chun wooden dummy.
San Clemente, CA, October 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Bringing Bruce Lee's martial arts concepts to southern California, Adam Williss Martial Arts & Orange County Wing Chun held a 3-hour Wooden Dummy seminar on Saturday October 16th on the traditional kung fu training methods of the Wing Chun wooden dummy.
Previously only available to the few, this Orange County martial arts seminar brought the unique art of Wing Chun and its advanced wooden dummy martial arts training directly to the public. It was a rare opportunity to learn first-hand the precise movements made famous by the late Bruce Lee, the seminar was for everyone, whether a beginner or an experienced martial artist.
"We want to make these seminars a regular thing, said local Wing Chun Sifu Adam Williss. "We want people to see how intelligent the concepts of Wing Chun and its training methods are. The logic behind Wing Chun's methods are undeniable. They are the same core concepts found in Jeet Kune Do and are highly effective for both men and women."
Commonly called Bruce Lee's Kung Fu, Wing Chun stems from the famous Shaolin temple of China. It was then held in secret for centuries by underground Chinese rebels. Only within the last few decades has this knowledge been made available to the Western world. The first person to do this was Bruce Lee.
The appeal of Bruce Lee's Kung Fu approach is due to its simplicity and its depth. Emphasizing direct and efficient body mechanics by controlling an opponent's centerline, Wing Chun quickly overwhelms an attacker. However, brute strength is not to be relied upon. Correct positioning, feeling, awareness, timing and strategy are used on instead.
"Wing Chun teaches everything you need to be a good martial artist," said Williss. "Its philosophy is taoist in nature. Learning to be more aware and in the present. Not thinking yet not dreaming, ready for whatever may come. When there is an opportunity, you do not try to hit, it hits all by itself. Rejecting all restrictions imposed by form and formality and emphasizing simplicity and going with the flow of nature.
